Patriarche Père et Fils was founded in 1780 by Jean-Baptiste Patriarche and has grown dramatically from a small, traditional “Burgundy House” to one of the largest négociants in Burgundy, exporting to over 85 different markets around the world. Based in the heart of Beaune Patriarche is home to one of the most extensive cellars in the Burgundy region with “caves” that extend for several kilometres under the streets of Beaune and contain thousands of bottles of fine wine from the company’s long and distinguished history.
Expert opinion from our resident Master of Wine:
2008 white Burgundies deserve their good reputation: they have great fruit and fresh, balancing acidity, and will drink well young or can be kept. Patriarche have invested heavily in 2008 whites and put together a range that is amongst the best flights of wines we have tasted in Beaune. Each of the individual village wines shows real typicity and style. (Keith Isaac MW)
