The Château de Meursault dates from the 11th century and to this day is one of the biggest and most beautiful estates in Burgundy owning 60ha of vines and receiving over 30,000 visitors a year.
The vineyards are in an ideal location with low hills to the west providing shelter from the wind. The vines grow down the slopes from a quarry on soils that are naturally diverse and rich in limestone. More than 30 years after rescuing the Château from oblivion, the Château has been returned to its former glory. Through careful management and by employing the best and most up-to-date techniques of viticulture and vinification, the wines of the Château de Meursault have now taken their place among the great wines of the Côte d'Or.
