Bordeaux

Bordeaux makes oceans of wine from really expensive global brands to the wines made by the archetypal “little grower”. (Not literally, some of them are prop forwards in this rugby-playing part of France, but you know what we mean.) So, from these oceans we have chosen a few mere drops: at different levels and of different styles.

Take a look at the wine from Chateau Cadillac whose beautiful vineyards stretch down to the Dordogne river west of Fronsac; or to that of its sister property tucked away in the woods of the Graves region to the south west of the city of Bordeaux. Here, at Chateau Haut Selve consultant Patrick Soye crafts ripe, well balanced Cabernet and Merlot wines at a level well above what you normally find in the appellation.
