You may remember us blogging about our wine tastings at Taste of London back in June, well now you don't have to read about what we got up to you can watch what it was all about too! Here's what our resident Master of Wine, Keith Isaac, had to say about our involvement.....

I participated at the Taste of London event one month after I joined the Patriarche Wine Agencies team and having developed a real interest for everything winey it was time for me to progress and attend a second wine tasting: Wines of Argentina Annual Trade Tasting.

We’ll be presenting the full portfolio from Valle de la Puerta at the Wines of Argentina annual trade tasting tomorrow at Lord’s Cricket Ground, London.

As well as new vintages of the winery’s entry level Las Olas wines a new tier to the range will be on show for the first time in London; Las Olas Reserva. The Malbec-Bonarda is already proving its success in the duty free market.

We’ll be at The Boutique Wineries Tasting for the first time this year and we’ll be using the occasion to show off a range of the wines from our new producers at The Business Design Centre on the 20th September.

This tasting, which is aimed exclusively at Independent Wine Retailers and the on-trade is the sister of the already established SITT tastings and the perfect showcase for our new wines which are very much in line with these dynamic sectors of the UK wine trade.

Whether you’re able to come and taste at our stand on the day or are unable to make it we’re offering 10% off the first order for any Independent Wine Retailers and on-trade establishments that ‘like’ our Facebook page before the 30th September 2011.

As the debate heats up over whether there should be a Supplier Charter for Independent wine merchants we’re looking forward to offering our thoughts on the topic in September at Harpers’ Top Merchants Suppliers Charter meeting in London. In the mean time however, as we prepare for our 2011 portfolio to go live (5^th September!) we’re showing our commitment to the increasingly important Independent sector by taking a table at The Boutique Wineries Tasting on the 20^th September at the Business Design Centre, London.

I joined the Patriarche Wine Agencies team a few weeks ago as their trainee and at that time I couldn’t have imagined that I would be learning how to recognise, taste and appreciate wines so soon! They really threw me in at the deep end and even after only three weeks I’ve been amazed at how much I’ve learnt.
