In the last of our LIWF preview blog posts we chat to Daniel Spigatin, owner, MD and winemaker at his family winery in Mendoza and ask him why coming to London this year is such a key part of his calendar.

The third in our four part series on our intrepid wine producers travelling to London for the LIWF next week features Andrew Noble from Valle de la Puerta based in La Rioja, Argentina. We asked him why he decided to take a stand at the fair this year and what makes his wines stand out from the rest.....

The results of the first tranche of UK based wine awards have just been released and we're pleased to report a hat trick has been awarded to three of our wines from the on-trade favourite, The Sommelier Wine Awards......

As far as ones to watch are concerned Peter Logan is definately where it's at. He is chief winemaker at his family owned and operated winery whose wines are cool climate in style and quality from Orange and Mudgee in the Central Ranges of NSW, Australia. He's making the round-the-world trip to bring new vintages of his wines to the UK at the LIWF and had this to say about why he's always willing to go those extra few thousand miles.....

Rob Bowen, Winemaker at Domaines & Vineyards in Western Australia, will be visiting London in May to catch up on the wines of the world. In anticipation of his trip we caught up with him before he made the mammouth journey over here to see what he's been up to and what he's looking forward to at the Fair.

There’s been some pretty notable London International Wine Fair (LIWF) bashing going on over the last few months, some we agree with - it’s a real slog to get to Excel! - and some we don’t (like the Fair having lost its purpose). We travelled to Dussledorf this year and loved exploring the floors of the LIWF’s main rival, the gigantic Prowein, but at a time when interest, wineries and budgets appear to be dwindling in our domestic market we fell it's never been more important to get fully behind the LIWF.

We're knee deep into the Spring tasting season here in London with an intense three weeks showing off our California, Spanish, and French portfolio whilst also travelling to ViniSud in Montpellier and Prowein in Germany to find more gems for our growing portfolio.

But it's Champagne that's currently in the lime light as we show case the wines from Champagne De Castelnau's award winning range at no less than four events in two weeks.

We can't wait until the Wines of California Annual Trade Tastings to tell you about the new Cycles Gladiator labels so here's a sneak peak at the news from Hahn Family Wines and several good reasons to register for the tastings in London or Edinburgh!
