We’ll be presenting the full portfolio from Valle de la Puerta at the Wines of Argentina annual trade tasting tomorrow at Lord’s Cricket Ground, London.

As well as new vintages of the winery’s entry level Las Olas wines a new tier to the range will be on show for the first time in London; Las Olas Reserva. The Malbec-Bonarda is already proving its success in the duty free market.

Introduced only 18 months ago the La Puerta Alta wines continue to go from strength to strength having won the trophy at the Decanter World Wine Awards last year for best argentine red under £10 for the Bonarda 2009. This year Gold was awarded to La Puerta Alta Malbec-Bonarda 2010 by the Concours Mondiales de Bruxelles and all these top award winning wines will be available to taste on the 14th September.

Situated in the Famatina Valley in La Rioja approximately 754 miles North West of Buenos Aires, Valle de la Puerta is known for its excellent Bonarda and increasingly for the high standard of their Torrontes. La Puerta Clasico Torrontes is currently the biggest selling Torrontes in Canada and the winery is now hoping to emulate its success in the UK. The lack of rain in this northern part of Argentina is one of the key variables to producing the high quality Torrontes from this barren and elevated desert valley.

We hope to see you at Lords!
